Every commission begins with a conversation. You share your reference images and tell me what the place means to you. I work from that emotional brief as much as the visual one.
Commissions are suitable for landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, pet portraits, and architectural studies. If you are unsure whether your subject is right for oil painting, just ask — the answer is usually yes.
Your painting arrives framed or unframed, ready to hang. UK delivery is included, and I can quote for international shipping. Most commissions take 6–10 weeks from deposit to delivery.

The commission process

Get in touch
Fill in the commission enquiry form with your subject, a rough size if you have one, and any reference images. I will reply within 48 hours with a quote and timeline.

Agree & deposit
Once we agree on the details, a 50% deposit secures your place in the commission queue. The remaining balance is due on completion.

Painting begins
I share photographs at key stages — you'll see it come to life. Feedback is always welcome; this is a collaboration, not a handoff.

Delivery
Once you approve the final piece, it is carefully packed and shipped safely to your door.

Size
Tell me the wall or room. If you do not have measurements, I will suggest a size that suits the space and the subject.
Subject
A quiet seascape and a detailed pet portrait ask different things of the painter. Your references tell me which you have.
Framing & delivery
Framed or unframed, UK or international. I include these in the quote so there are no surprises.

What references do you need?
Clear, well-lit photographs of the subject from multiple angles work best. A single good photo can also work, but more options give me more freedom to compose the painting well.
How much does a commission cost?
Each commission is quoted individually based on size, subject and framing. Send an enquiry with the subject and where the painting will hang, and a personal quote follows within 48 hours. A 50% deposit secures your place and the balance is due on completion.
How long does it take?
Most commissions take 6 to 10 weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on size and my current queue.
Can I request revisions?
I share progress photos at key stages so you can give feedback before the painting is completed. Minor adjustments are included; significant changes may affect the timeline and quote.
Where do you ship?
UK delivery is included in your quote. Paintings are carefully packed for safe delivery. For delivery abroad, mention the country in your enquiry and I will include the cost in your quote.
Can you paint from imagination?
Sometimes. Most commissions are reference-based — you provide photographs and I paint from those. But if you want something more interpretive or atmospheric, that conversation is always welcome.
